The staff at Dragonfly Support Services consists of Master's level clinicians and Substance Use professionals with knowledge as well as the skill levels to treat individuals with mental health care, substance use issues along with

co-occurring disorders.

I am committed to helping others define who they are.  I believe that our past or life choices influence our behavior, but they do not define who we are. One of my missions is to assist clients to find meaning in their experiences and learn to develop a sense of peace that comes from making sense of our experiences. I strive to be direct and genuine with the space and time provided.  I work with individuals over the age of 14 to improve their lives while working toward healing.

Heidi Mitson, ADC

I am passionate about making a positive impact in the field of addiction treatment, and am dedicated to supporting clients on their path to recovery. I am eager to gain hands-on experience and contribute to the recovery journey of individuals struggling with substance use disorders.

 

With a strong willingness to learn, tough resilience, and empathy for this filed, I am committed to learning and growing in the field of addiction counseling. Through my internship, I aim to develop practical skills in conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, facilitating group therapy sessions, and providing psychoeducation.

 

As a Alcohol & Drug Counselor, Heidi is dedicated to supporting clients on their path to recovery and assisting in the implementation of evidence-based interventions. I am enthusiastic about gaining knowledge in topics such as Motivational Interviewing, Moral Reconation Therapy, Relapse Prevention, Coping Skills, and Cognitive Reprocessing. I am currently pursuing a Masters of Arts in Addiction Counseling at Liberty University.

Sarah Tate, LMSW

Hello, my name is Sarah Tate! I am a Licensed Master’s level social worker that provides mental health and substance use treatment to adults and adolescents. I work in individual and group settings and strive to be holistic and person-centered in my work. My goal is to help individuals feel empowered, build resilience, and to promote growth and healing. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling and exploring with my family. I have been to several states, National/State parks and forests, beaches, and plan to visit many more! I also enjoy lazy days

watching movies and engaging in self-care. I can’t wait to work with you!

Alyssa Martin, MSW Intern

My name is Alyssa Martin. I work with adults and teens navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based practices. I believe therapy is a space for healing, growth, and empowerment. A place where change becomes possible!

I’m dedicated to making a difference and helping my clients build the tools to move forward with confidence and resilience. My background includes a bachelor’s degree in social work, with ongoing graduate training toward my master of social work, and professional experience providing trauma management and emotional support.

My work is guided by compassion, understanding, and a deep appreciation for the strength it takes to seek help. I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where clients can explore their experiences, build self-awareness, and move toward meaningful change.

Alita Karpolyuk, MSW Intern

My mission is to empower individuals on their journey towards growth and healing by helping them identify and modify patterns and behaviors that no longer serve them. I believe that understanding our past experiences and embracing our authentic selves allows us to live more fulfilling and meaningful lives.
